Anastasia Kourou is my name and I invite you to join me and experience the world of my art.

My fascination for the whimsical, the occult and for fantasy was already evident in my youth, when art not only gave me comfort, but also revealed its healing effects:  

It gave me the opportunity to express the darkness inside me and to channel suppressed feelings. 

I created my first works and initially started studying fashion design, successful in living out my passion for the dark & extravagant.

But because of health, psychological and family problems, I lost sight of art for the time that followed. 

This changed abruptly when I was intensively occupied with myself and my life vision during a cure in 2018. This was followed by a return to art, and the coming years are characterized by an intensive, isolated examination, in which I laid the foundation for the expressive handwriting characteristic in my works, in addition to the thematic focus.

With the deepening of my artistic practice, I also increasingly engaged in expressive airbrush as well as tattoo techniques, which can still be found in my art today. 

And I want to give back that deep understanding to “LOVE YOURSELF IN YOUR DARKNESS”!

Currently I live and work in my studio in Esslingen where uncompromising, high-contrast and emotional images are created.I feel complete in my being and have learned to accept my dark sides as part of life.
