 Bei „Split“ handelt es sich um eine surrealistische Tuschzeichnung, die als limitierter Kunstdruck erhältlich ist. Das Werk entstand aus einem Gefühl der Notwendigkeit heraus, die innere Zerrissenheit, die wir alle in uns tragen, in einer einzigen, kompromisslosen Form festzuhalten. Es ist meine Antwort auf die ewige Frage: Was passiert, wenn sich das bewusste Selbst dem Unbewussten stellt?
Ich war fasziniert von der Idee der Dualität, der gleichzeitigen Existenz von Leben und dem Wissen um die Vergänglichkeit. Das Porträt, gespalten in ein lebendiges Antlitz und die rohe, ungeschönte Anatomie des Schädels, visualisiert den Moment der bewussten Konfrontation. Für mich erzählt es von der Suche nach Ganzheit, die nur beginnt, wenn man sich traut, in die unbequemen, unbeleuchteten Ecken der eigenen Psyche zu schauen und sie anzuerkennen.

Dieses Werk wurde bewusst in einem Stil gehalten, der die Wucht und die Textur einer klassischen Tuschezeichnung besitzt. Die gesamte feingliedrige, kontrastreiche Ästhetik wurde direkt auf dem iPad geschaffen:

Gearbeitet habe ich ausschließlich in der Sketchbook App mit dem Apple Pencil.

Der Prozess:
Sketchbook ist bekannt für seine natürlichen und intuitiven Pinsel. Ich nutzte die präzise Kontrolle des Apple Pencils, um die Textur und den Fluss der digitalen Tinte zu steuern, von den feinsten, fast verwehten Schattierungen bis hin zu den tiefschwarzen, massiven Flächen, die die knöcherne Struktur des Schädels betonen.

Schwarz-Weiß als Statement:
Die Reduktion auf reines Schwarz und Weiß war eine bewusste Entscheidung, um die emotionale Wucht zu verstärken. Der Fokus liegt ganz auf der Form, der Textur und der emotionalen Intensität des Inkworks.

Ich hoffe, diese Kombination aus der Natürlichkeit der Sketchbook App und der Ehrlichkeit des traditionellen Inkworks vermittelt die Intensität, die ich beim Zeichnen empfunden habe.

Leinwanddrucke in diversen Größen sind als erschwinglichere Alternative ebenfalls erhältlich.

Es wird sorgfältig auf Giclée Ilford Cotton Textured Paper gedruckt und signiert.

Some images arise from a sense of necessity. With “Split,” it was the desire to capture the inner turmoil we all carry within us in a single, uncompromising form. It is my answer to the eternal question: What happens when the conscious self confronts the unconscious?
I was fascinated by the idea of duality, the simultaneous existence of life and the knowledge of transience. The portrait, split into a living face and the raw, unadorned anatomy of the skull, visualizes the moment of conscious confrontation. For me, it tells of the search for wholeness, which only begins when one dares to look into the uncomfortable, unlit corners of one’s own psyche and acknowledge them.
Ultimately, however, it is a mirror: what you discover in this image is your own personal answer.

This work was deliberately kept in a style that has the impact and texture of a classic ink drawing. The entire delicate, high-contrast aesthetic was created directly on the iPad:

I worked exclusively in the Sketchbook app with the Apple Pencil.

The process:

Sketchbook is known for its natural and intuitive brushes. I used the precise control of the Apple Pencil to control the texture and flow of the digital ink, from the finest, almost blown-out shades to the deep black, solid areas that emphasize the bony structure of the skull.

Black and white as a statement:

The reduction to pure black and white was a conscious decision to enhance the emotional impact. The focus is entirely on the form, texture, and emotional intensity of the inkwork.

I hope this combination of the naturalness of the Sketchbook app and the honesty of traditional inkwork conveys the intensity I felt while drawing.
